What Families Tell Us
The most honest measure of our work is what families say after a few months — not when they first sign up, but when the arrangements have had time to settle in.

"My mother kept saying she was fine managing on her own, and I didn't want to push. What I appreciated about Senandung was that they didn't push either — the coordinator introduced the arrangement slowly and let my mother get comfortable with it first. After about six weeks, she actually told me the house feels less cluttered and she's sleeping better."

"We signed up for the caregiver workshop after my wife and I realised we were both exhausted and slightly at odds about the best way to handle things at my father's house. The sessions were very grounded — practical, not preachy. The printed guides we got are still stuck to the fridge. It would have been useful to have more session dates available, but the content itself was well worth it."

"The meal planning service solved something I'd been struggling with for almost a year. My parents have very specific food preferences and my mother was getting frustrated trying to keep the kitchen stocked around my father's tastes. The weekly menu Senandung puts together has become a routine they both look forward to."

"I live about 45 minutes away from my mother and for a long time I worried constantly about what was happening at the house. Since working with Senandung the written updates from each visit mean I actually know. It sounds simple but just having that written record each week makes a real difference to how I feel."

"Signed up for the workshop series mainly to get better at handling the emotional side of visits — my father can be quite stubborn about accepting any help. The facilitator was very calm and gave us strategies that actually work in practice. The session recording came in handy because I wanted to revisit one of the topics a few weeks later."

"We started with just the meal planning and after a couple of months added the daily living coordination too. Switching to two services was easy — same coordinator, same communication style. My aunt's kitchen is now stocked properly every week and the general household routine feels much steadier."

Family Journeys
A closer look at how a few families arrived at Senandung and what changed for them.
A Household Drifting Out of Routine
Daily Living Support — Shah Alam, Selangor · 4 months
An adult daughter working in KL had noticed that her mother's house in Shah Alam was becoming progressively less organised — laundry left undone, the kitchen running low on basics, and a general feeling that daily routines had unravelled after her father passed away.
Senandung worked with the family to put together a weekly household coordination session — a task list that matched what her mother was comfortable receiving help with. The coordination started small and expanded after the first month when her mother expressed she was happy with the arrangement.
By month three, the daughter's weekend visits had shifted from catching up on household tasks to spending actual time with her mother. The written summaries meant she knew what had been done during the week without needing to check everything in person.
"I used to arrive on Saturday already stressed. Now I arrive with nothing on my mental to-do list for the house."
Two Family Members Who Couldn't Agree
Caregiver Guidance Workshop — Subang Jaya, Selangor · 6 weeks
A couple caring for one partner's elderly father found they had completely different intuitions about how to handle the visits — one wanting to intervene more directly in household decisions, the other preferring a lighter touch. The friction was affecting both their relationship and the quality of their visits.
They attended the Caregiver Guidance Workshop as a pair. The facilitator worked through several scenarios they recognised from their own visits and helped them agree on a shared approach. They came away with a practical reference guide and a clearer understanding of how to handle specific recurring situations.
Within a few visits after the workshop, they found they were responding to the father's household situation more consistently — and he seemed less unsettled by their visits as a result. The disagreements between the couple had significantly reduced by month two.
"We realised we weren't actually disagreeing on the goal — just on the method. The workshop helped us settle on a method we could both follow."
